A Bolt From D’Blue

This event has ended

The Lark Concert Hall, Wednesday 9th October

I will never forget the smell of my own burning flesh” are the chilling words of Actor & Playwright David Gilna, the man behind this exceptional show A Bolt From D’Blue. David was just 18 when he reached out to stop a ladder from falling, only for a fork of lightning to zap him from the heavens, sending 300,000 volts of electricity through his body. David’s heart subsequently stopped, and it took him years to recover. But the experience also changed the course of his life in more positive ways.

In this compelling one-man-production, which has sold out over 80 shows worldwide, Gilna recounts his early dreams of being a performer, his family history, his first arrival to America, and, of course, the moment that changed his life forever.

Featuring surprise special guests on the night, Gilna deftly guides us through the humor and horror of this near-death experience, weaving the trauma of this life-changing event into a poignant and unforgettable show.
