American College Dublin

Set up by Florida’s Lynn University back in 1993, American College Dublin is a small, not-for-profit liberal arts institution based on Dublin’s picturesque Merrion Square – right in the city centre.

This private college began life as a study abroad campus for American students. Today, it is a global institution with students from 35 different countries attending its courses. It offers BA and MA degrees in the likes of liberal arts, performing arts, creative writing, international business and event management.

American College Dublin is a constituent college of the Irish American University, which is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is recognised as an institution of higher education in both the Republic of Ireland and the State of Delaware in the US.

College of Computing Technology (CCT)

The College of Computing Technology offers students a wide range of courses. These are career-based and updated each year in line with changes and technological advances within the industry. Its campus is located on Westmoreland Street – right in the heart of Dublin city centre. CCT students hail from over 40 different countries and the college aims to provide them with a progressive, innovative and state-of-the-art learning environment.

Dorset College

Established in 1983, Dorset College is a private institution to the north of Dublin. It offers courses in computing, business, accounting, IT, law and the English language – among other subjects. Dublin Business School (DBS)

Dublin Business School (DBS) is Ireland’s largest independent third-level college. Griffith College

Established in 1974, Griffith College is considered one of Ireland’s largest independent higher education institutions with 7,000 learners at its campuses in Dublin, Cork and Limerick. The College provides a wide range of undergraduate and one year postgraduate programmes which are internationally recognised and validated by the Irish government body Quality and Qualifications, Ireland (QQI). At postgraduate level, the College offers fifty six different one year programmes including Accounting and Finance, International Business, Pharmaceutical Business and Technology, Computing, Big Data Management Analytics, Interactive Digital Media, International Law, Media Communications, TV and Radio Journalism, Scoring for Film, TV and Interactive Media.

Just under 120,000 students attend Dublin’s four universities. Trinity College, which is the oldest, is right in the heart of the city and is also home to famous attractions like the Book of Kells. The other three have campuses scattered throughout the city suburbs. There is also another university based just outside of Dublin in the town of Maynooth – it’s about 25km away from the city centre. Each of these universities has its own particular strengths and between them they offer courses in everything from astrophysics to zoology. Although medicine, science, busin
