Would you avoid crossing a fairy ring? Do you always put a cross when making your soda bread? The myths and legends of Irish fairy tales and folklore have spread all over the world; from Banshees to Leprechauns, many are familiar with the traditions and superstitions surrounding Irish fairy lore.
This talk will explore WB Yeats’ personal interest in Irish folklore with a close reading of some of his well known works that feature both the magic and the darker side of Irish fairy tales.
