Sensational guitar playing and unforgettable storytelling as brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy give an uplifting account of their early life growing up on the Irish border during ‘the Troubles'. The show draws on their latest album Sugar Island and a selection of their Irish hits.
This is their only livestream show of 2020 following a string of sold-out UK headline and support tours with Saving Grace (Robert Plant) and Fairport Convention.
Peter O’Toole joined Hothouse Flowers in 1985 and began busking on the streets of Dublin and playing cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. Their first album, People, released in May 1988, was the most successful debut album in Irish history reaching the No.1 slot in Ireland within a week and eventually reached No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart.
Since then, in-between recording and touring Internationally with Hothouse Flowers, Peter has also produced music for artists including John Spillane, Simon Carmody and Michelle Shocked (Peach Fuzz) as well as owning a home studio in Wicklow .
