Artscope was recently awarded funding from the Local Live Performance South Dublin County scheme to facilitate the programming of several outdoor live performances in Lucan and Rathfarnham during August and September 2021, subject to public health considerations.

Seó Beo Arís: The Revival of Live aims to animate local towns and districts so that communities can feel the invigorating benefits of live music in an open-air setting, something sadly missed for some time now.

Seó Beo Arís: The Revival of Live, Lucan and Rathfarnham consists of a series of FREE one-hour concerts, curated and presented by Artscope’s Caroline Wynne, Martin Tourish and Simon Morgan, in association with South Dublin County Council and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

The concerts will take place in the grounds of Lucan Community College at Esker Drive, Lucan, Co. Dublin and Rathfarnham Castle Park over four weekends in August and into September. Numbers will be in accordance with current guidelines at the time. The space will be ticketed and controlled with the public accessing 20 mins before the performance starts and exiting after one hour.

Kicking off on Sunday, 8 August at 6.00pm in Lucan, with a line-up of performers from the Lucan Creative Collective both Lucan and Rathfarnham will play host to more than 100 individuals all involved professionally in the arts.

OTHER stages will include the best of traditional music across the county, a dedicated emerging artists platform, classical, vocal, modern, dance and of course no concert series would be complete without All that Jazz! For children and families Seó Beo Arís has included some of the works commissioned by South Dublin County Council for Ruaille Buaille, Lucan Children’s Music Festival 2021. All Performed Live!

The aim of the Local Live Performance South Dublin County programme is to assist producers, promoters and venues in providing support for people in an industry which has suffered so much over the past 18 months. The funding obtained by Artscope will be used to support employment and wellbeing in the commercial arts and culture sectors through the provision of live performances by engaging the services of locally based professional artists, musicians, crew and other staff members involved in live performances.
