FameLab Ireland 2020 Final – The world's leading science communication competition is on the hunt once again for the newest voices in STEM.

This year's Final is virtual for the first time! Held in more than 30 countries, the British Council and Cheltenham Festivals have teamed up to bring it to Ireland again in 2020 – and this year you can watch live from the comfort of your own home! Armed only with their wits and a few props, the top newest voices in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths from across Ireland will give 3 minute talks on always fascinating, sometimes bizarre science concepts. Expect to hear anything from ‘Why do we die?' to ‘I'm a Zombie and So Are You' and ‘Plastics, Not So Fantastic'. Presentations will then be judged according to FameLab's golden rule – the 3 Cs: Content, Clarity and Charisma.

The FameLab Ireland 2020 Final will be an unpredictable, enlightening and exciting way to encourage your curiosity and give you a snapshot into the world of science. As a viewer, you will also have the power to judge contestants along with an esteemed panel from academia, media and industry. And if that wasn't enough, you'll be entertained during the interval by international award-winning singer/songwriter and science communicator, Emer Maguire. Full of laughs and sprinkled with science, Emer will share her stories of being socially awkward, celebrate the nuances of being a middle child, and sing about how to deal with life in lock down. So join in to whet those science taste buds!
