Fabulous Fossil Talks

This event has ended

UCD, Monday 13th August

Six invited experts will provide a morning of public talks on the oldest grass fossils in dinosaur dung, expeditions to collect fossils from ancient forests of the Antarctic, the vegetation history of Ireland over the past 65 million years and much much more. There will be coffee and talks at the open session of the 10th European Palaeobotany and Palynology Conference (EPPC 2018) from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm on Monday 13th August at O'Reilly Hall, University College Dublin. Tickets are €26.83 including booking fee and places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Mingle with 400 fossil plant experts from 45 different countries at coffee (yes there really are that many of us!) or take a stroll through UCD’s award winning plant evolution garden. Learn more than you can imagine about the creatures that have been preserved in fossil amber and what fossil wildfires can tell us about past atmospheres! This event will be convened by Professor Jennifer McElwain, Trinity College Dublin.

This event is sponsored by Science Foundation Ireland and the Environmental Protection Agency (Ireland).
