Dan Lonergan's (Jon Kenny) account of the hilarious characters that inhabit his life on a daily basis and a love story that never was. By turns poignant and comic Kenny carries the audience on a roller-coaster ride from his childhood to middle-age, from the hurling pitch to the pub and from one uproariously funny character to the other. It's about lost love and the sense of belonging and not belonging to a small community. Most of all it is about the humanity and decency of the local characters found in every rural village and town in Ireland. As Dan himself surmises “Some people never had the dance that I had and some people never hear the music”.

Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade

Pavilion Theatre

Four young people, one an Olympic champion. Tangled relationships. Forbidden love, twice over. An unsuccessful assassination. An execution avoided. And a royal father who has to accept his children as they are. Irish National Opera continues its award-winning exploration of Vivaldi’s operas with the work which started the 20th-Century revival of the composer's works for the stage. L’Olimpiade brims with opportunities for all seven characters, showing their personalities and feelings through arias that range from the explosive and almost instrumentally virtuosic, to the slow explorati
