Sails Statue

Start the day the right way watching the sun rise over Dublin Bay on this relaxed 10km cycle. Join us at the Sails Statue on the corner of Alfie Byrne Road and Clontarf Road to start the day the right way with a sunrise cycle in the beautiful Dublin Bay. Enjoy a leisurely 10km morning cycle in Clontarf watching the sunrise. This cycle is open to all levels of cyclists and will all be on a protected bike lane. National Biodiversity Week is all about connecting you with nature. It’s about communicating the importance of biodiversity and providing motivation and know how to play your part in protecting it. It’s also about entertainment! Find fun and wonder outdoors with ten days of celebration! National Biodiversity Week is organised by the Irish Environmental Network (IEN), with thanks to funding from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). Africa Day is the annual day that commemorates the foundation of the African Union and celebrates the people and culture of African countries. In Ireland, the day is celebrated with events taking place in towns and cities around the country alongside the flagship Dublin event which takes place on Sunday 17 May, 2026 at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
