Gate Theatre, Friday 29th September - Saturday 21st October

In a remote renovated farmhouse, Nell, a mother in mourning, prepares to scatter her son’s ashes with her grieving daughter-in-law, Orla. Cheryl-Ann, a visitor from America, meanwhile settles in for an idyllic break in the wilds of West Clare.

However, these women will have their weekend plans turned upside down when an unexpected guest, Gabby, arrives looking for shelter, solace and understanding.

In this beautiful, funny and entertaining world premiere from Erica Murray, a situation as unlikely as it is inevitable will send these four extraordinary women reeling, leaving them questioning the true nature of love, loss and birds.

In finding each other, Nell, Gabby, Orla and Cheryl-Ann will, in one way or another, help each other to move a little step forward.

This new production of the classic Dubliners story, features the actor and comedian, Terry O’Neill, who brings to life Joyce’s rare collection of characters and takes you on a hilarious journey from purgatory to paradise
