Meeting House Square, Friday 16th May

We invite you to an open air film screening set in the heart of Dublin City, in the beautiful Meeting House Square.

Join us for a unique cultural experience this Bike Week! Dublin City Council and the Office of the Night-Time Economy present THE SONG CYCLE, a special outdoor film screening in the heart of the city at Meeting House Square, Temple Bar.

About the Film
The Song Cycle is a documentary by musician and filmmaker Nick Kelly, who embarks on a cycling journey from Ireland to the Glastonbury Festival with his musical gear in tow. Alongside his musical partner Seán Millar and cameraman Céin O’Brien, Nick captures the highs and lows of their adventure. The film won Best Independent Film at the 2024 Galway Film Fleadh and Audience Choice at the IFI Documentary Festival.

Event Highlights

  • Musical Bike Bop: A lively procession arriving at Meeting House Square at 9:00 PM
  • Panel Discussion: Thought leaders and advocates for active travel and community living will discuss how Dublin can evolve into a more sustainable, bike-friendly city.
  • The Film Screening: The Song Cycle will be screened immediately after the Musical Bike Bop.

Ray O'Donoghue, Dublin’s Night-Time Economy Advisor, shares:
“This event ticks so many important boxes—it's cultural, community-driven, sustainable, and most importantly, it’s non-alcohol-focused. It’s a brilliant example of the kind of vibrant, alternative night-time experiences we’re aiming to encourage across Dublin.”
