On The Move

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, Thursday 1st May - Friday 26th September

On The Move: A Century of the Irish Passport.

Drawing on archival records and contributions from the public, the exhibition will feature tales of migration and diasporic connection, capturing some of the human stories behind the substantial recent increase in passport applications. What does the Irish passport tell us about Ireland’s relationship to the wider world? What roles has it played in times of war and social change? What does it mean to Irish people both at home and abroad?

Ahead of the exhibition launch we had a call-out for interesting Irish passport stories, some of which now feature in the museum and on our website – given the sheer amount of responses, we decided to keep this call-out open for the duration of the exhibition, so we have the opportunity to read more stories.

The exhibition is included with the EPIC general admission ticket, as it's based within our Celebrations Gallery, so anyone visiting the museum can experience it at no extra cost.
