Midsummer (a play with songs)

Midsummer (a play with songs)

Project Arts Centre, Wednesday 22nd May - Saturday 8th June 2019

A midsummer weekend in Edinburgh.

It’s raining.

Bob is a failing car salesman on the fringes of the city’s underworld. Helena is a high-powered divorce lawyer with a taste for other people’s husbands. She is totally out of his league; he is not her usual type at all. They absolutely should not sleep together…

Which is, of course, why they do.

Midsummer is a musical tour through Edinburgh; a great lost weekend of bridge-burning, car chases, wedding bust-ups, bondage miscalculations, midnight trysts and self-loathing hangovers.

A collaboration between David Greig and singer-songwriter Gordon McIntyre, brought to Project by the same team as the 2016 hit This Lime Tree Bower.

While Philadelphia Story is at its heart an exploration of place, the photo series has a heavy focus on the relationship between the subjects of my photos and their environments. This relationship is central to my work, and creates a mood in these images that transcends the notion of a specific geographic place.
