LEO Dublin City Women in Business Network: Hands-On SEO For Beginners

This event has ended

Online, Wednesday 10th November

In this practical, interactive workshop, you will learn how to apply the principles of non-technical SEO to your business website. You will assess your website’s strengths and weaknesses in search, identify keyword phrases you would like to rank for, and then see how creating or improving your content and applying SEO best-practice can bring new visitors to your site.

Amongst other optimisation tips, we will cover:
• Content types, content creation, and choice of topics
• On-page optimisation such as content structure, links, images, permalinks, and meta data
• Creating a website that is a pleasure to visit and reflects your brand

We will brainstorm, exchange ideas, and motivate you to take your website to the next level! This workshop is aimed at business owners who already have a site but feel it could be doing much more for their bottom line. You will be asked to participate in discussions and share ideas. You will also have the opportunity to ask any burning SEO questions you may have!

You should have access to your own website and be familiar with how to update a page, upload an image, create new products for sale, etc., as relevant for your business. You don’t need any previous experience with SEO, however, as this workshop will be aimed at beginners. We will use a WordPress test site to talk about how each optimisation tactic is implemented, but all these skills are transferable if you use a different CMS.

To get the most from our time, you will be asked to carry out some research before the workshop. A guide will be sent to you after booking, and you should expect to spend at least an hour on this work. But remember, the better prepared you are the better your final outcomes will be!
