LEO Dublin City Women in Business Network: Even the smallest of businesses needs to be thinking about cybersecurity

This event has ended

Online, Wednesday 7th July

The way we do business has changed. Our shopfront might be an Instagram account. We’re consulting and sharing confidential and sensitive data over Zoom. And building customer trust is key to achieving sales. Cybersecurity sounds overwhelming. We often think it involves specialist expertise and is rooted in tech. Yet 98% of data breaches are down to human error. Andrea Manning takes a practical and human approach to cybersecurity because she understands the needs of the small business. Many of the things you can do are simple, take little time, and are often free. Learn how to build security into your business in a way that feels entirely do-able.

The talk will be followed by 10-15 minutes networking in a breakout room.

Speaker Profile: Andrea Manning

I provide GDPR and Cybersecurity consulting and training for SMEs and Startups. Through the Enterprise Ireland funded accelerator program New Frontiers I recently developed CyberPie. CyberPie is a subscription product that delivers micro tasks along with a knowledge base of tools and resources to support the unique needs of the microbusiness owner to build security and compliance into their business in as little as 5 minutes a week.

My superpower is demystifying GDPR and Cybersecurity by making them personal and relevant. GDPR and Cybersecurity are essential components of every business, regardless of size. With many years spent in both the corporate world and the entrepreneurial world, I see the great divide between the two. The small business owner is focused on survival, has to wear many hats and juggle priorities and resources. In the corporate world access to training, support, funding is taken for granted. In a startup or small business, it’s a luxury. My mission is to make cybersecurity and compliance accessible to all.
