Polish Film Festival in Dublin, which launched in 2006, aims to promote Polish cinema in Ireland. The idea behind the project is to bring the culture of one of the largest minorities living on the island – through their films.

The main organizer of KINOPOLIS, Pomeranian Film Foundation in Gdynia, also organizes Polish Film Festival, the prestigious international events, which is held annually in Poland. It also supports most famous filmmakers, who win in the Main Competition, and promotes various fields of filmmaking, through publishing and education. From the beginning of KINOPOLIS, the Foundation is supported by Polish Embassy in Dublin.

Every year Polish Film Festival in Ireland's capital city attracts a large audience: the Irish, Polish community, but also other nationalities residing in Ireland. Festival's repertoire is diverse. In addition to feature films, viewers have the opportunity to see the documents, animations, and even the silent cinema with live music (2008). In the program modern art meets classics, the works which have formed Polish cinema.

KINOPOLIS was attended by prominent filmmakers such as Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Jerzy and Maciej Stuhr, Feliks Falk, Juliusz Machulski, Kinga Preis, Andrzej Chyra, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Marek Skrobecki, Witold Giersz and others.
