Waltz Of My Heart (The Ivor Novello Songbook) – [Cancelled] – Live at the National Concert Hall Dublin.

Composer. Impressario. Stage actor. Matinee Idol. Hollywood star. Ivor Novello was the quintessential 20th Century Man. His songs were the soundtrack to the war years and are some of the finest compositions in the catalogue of 20th century music. Soprano Sandra Oman, tenor Owen Gilhooly and baritone Simon Morgan return with this sell-out performance, in the atmosphere of Novello's drawing room, to hear them reminisce about the exotic life of the great man – his being directed by Alfred Hitchcock, his Hollywood period, the stories behind the composition of his great stage musicals – and hear them perform his most beloved songs: We'll Gather Lilacs, Keep the Home Fires Burning, Waltz of my Heart, My Dearest Dear, And her Mother came too, My Life Belongs to You, Fold Your Wings, Shine through my Dreams, Someday my Heart will Awake, Rose of England. Step back into the 1930's Novello Drawing Room for a lunchtime celebration of one of the most popular entertainers of the first half of the 20th century.

Sandra has performed extensively in opera and concert in Ireland, UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Faroe Islands, Latvia and Poland and has interpreted over 40 operatic roles on stage. A favourite with Opera Ireland at the Gaiety Theatre Dublin, she performed principal roles with them in twelve different seasons, including roles in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cosi Fan Tutte, La Cenerentola, Dead Man Walking and A Streetcar named Desire. She has performed in concert with both the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and has sung as soprano soloist with virtually all of Ireland's major choral societies, including Dublin County Choir, Culwich Choral Society, Goethe Institue Choir, Guinness Choir, Bray Choral Society, Lassus Scholars, East Cork Choral Society, and now Tallaght Choral Society, in works ranging from Bach to Rutter. She has two number one albums on iTunes to her credit, LIBERTY and NOËL, which she launched at sell-out concerts at the National Concert Hall Dublin.

In 2018, Sandra starred alongside Irish prima ballerina Monica Loughman in Prima Donna – A Celebration of the Great Divas of Ballet and Opera, to a sold-out National Concert Hall. She was further the Soprano Soloist for the National Day of Commemoration with the Bands of the Irish Defence Forces in the presence of His Excellency President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his Government.
