Irish National Youth Ballet 30th Year Celebrations

This event has ended

O'Reilly Theatre, Friday 9th May - Sunday 11th May

For three decades, the Irish National Youth Ballet (INYB) has been a beacon of passion, dedication and artistic excellence, nurturing the talents of young dancers across Ireland. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate our 30th Anniversary, and we would be honoured to you have you and your students join us for this momentous occasion! We invite you to experience the culmination of months of hard work and artistic development in our spectacular anniversary performance. This production will see, for the first time, an INYB alumna choreographing a piece on the whole company as a celebratory piece reflecting on the history of the company. With costumes designed by Alison Finn using the colours of both the current and past uniforms, this piece is inspired by the very first performance season INYB ever performed entitled Irish Airs and Graces. Choreographer Zoe Ashe-Browne consulted with founding director Anne Campbell-Crawford, now based in Paris, on the origins of the company and how this first performance season came about in order to gain as much insight as possible for the piece’s creation. Kilian O’Callaghan, INYB’s resident choreographer, will stage his version of the 1909 classic Les Sylphides as well as the audience (and dancr) favourite Danse Macabre. These 3 major pieces will be interspersed with a short but beautiful pas de deux from our Senior dancers and a solo restaged for a group of Junior dancers. The whole event will be a celebration of all things to do with the Irish National Youth Ballet and its history, its importance to the dance scene in Ireland & how it has grown and developed over the years.

Expect an evening filled with breathtaking artistry, captivating choreography, and the sheer joy of dance. This is more than just a performance; it's a celebration of the vibrant dance community in Ireland. We believe that your students, the future of dance, will be inspired by the dedication and passion displayed on stage
