Ireland will face reigning world champions South Africa at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 5th November. This will be the first of three autumn internationals to be played by Ireland in 2022.

This most recent encounter between the two sides came during the 2017 autumn internationals, when Ireland demolished the Springboks 38-3 at the Aviva Stadium.

Overall, Ireland and South Africa have played each other on 26 occasions since their first meeting in 1906. The Springboks have won 18 matches, whilst Ireland have won 7 matches. There has also been one draw between the two sides.

The UEFA Europa League Final 2024 between Atalanta and Bayer 04 Leverkusen will take place in the Dublin Arena on Wednesday 22nd May with an 8pm kick-off. With a capacity in excess of 50,000, Dublin Arena is the home of the Republic of Ireland's national football and Ireland's rugby union team. First opened in 2010, the stadium is staging its second UEFA Europa League decider, having been the venue for the all-Portuguese final of 2011 between Porto and Braga, when Radamel Falcao scored the only goal as the Dragons took the trophy.
