Gavin James – Livestream on Facebook.

In support Irish live event industry crew, Gavin James will perform a livestream gig on Facebook, Friday July 24th @ 8pm. The event is free, however, donations in support of two fantastic live events industry initiatives – Minding Creative Minds and the Association of Irish Stage Technicians (AIST) Hardship Fund – would be greatly appreciated.

Speaking ahead of the livestream, in light of the recent cancellation of his Drive-In gigs, Gavin said – “we have been advised that all of the Drive-In shows can no longer proceed due to government guidelines. We have looked at all options and have sought out support and advice from the Government, unfortunately with continuing changes with COVID procedures we can not confirm any alternate dates. After months of work, planning to try to bring some live music and jobs back this summer, we are all devastated, full refunds are available at your point of purchase. I know it's not the same but I will be performing a livestream this Friday at 8pm on my FaceBook page – it's free but if you would like to donate, all funds will be going to raise awareness and support for the amazing and talent people who work in the live events industry.”

The GoFundMe page, which was initially set up for the forthcoming Songs From an Empty Room, can be found here.

MARS

Abbey Theatre

Four astronauts and an AI software interface are cooped up in the cabin of a space-craft for nine months on a mission to Mars. As they journey across the vast abyss of space, tensions rise, relationships are tested, and seasons of Real Housewives are watched and re-watched. Arriving on the red planet, they confront isolation, sinister ideologies, the prospect of alien life, and a vibe shift toward corporate authoritarianism. MARS is an opera about space colonisation, reactionary futurism, pronatalism, the madness of hustle culture, and the unsettling futures encroaching on our present.
