One Dublin One Book is a Dublin City Council initiative, led by Dublin City Libraries, which encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year. This year, the 20th anniversary of the One Dublin One Book initiative, Dublin City Council have announced that a new anthology of fiction, poetry, essays and memoir pieces collated in celebration of the city, as the One Dublin One Book choice for 2025. Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry taking place on Thursday May 1st, 2025 with the theme May Day!  The Theme May Day offers a rich source of poetic inspiration. As the midpoint between the spring and autumn equinox, May Day is deeply rooted in ancient traditions, including the fire festival of Bealtaine, symbolising renewal, hope, and abundance. Culture Date with Dublin 8 is a neighbourhood initiative, which aims to celebrate Dublin 8’s rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage while encouraging people who are living, working and visiting the area to explore what is on their doorstep. This collaborative project and programme of events aims to connect with and amplify the wider efforts being made to regenerate the area, highlighting all the great things there are to see and do in Dublin 8 to locals and visitors alike.
