Family Day Festival

Family Day will be celebrated at a day-long festival in Dublin’s Smithfield Square on Saturday 19 May from 1 to 5pm. This is the seventh annual Family Day celebration. The programme offers great entertainment, fun games and activities and useful information for all types of families and for the young and old. Come along, join in the fun and celebrate your family!

All families matter, and individuals who feel cared for and supported by those around them – whether families or others in their lives – help to make stronger communities for us all. We celebrate all types of family – one-parent families, step families, the traditional married family, adoptive and foster families, blended and extended families, those with opposite and same sex parents.

Entry and all activities are, and always will be, free of charge. The aim is to keep the event as a ‘pester-power-free’ zone. You can bring your own picnic to enjoy and there is also the option of visiting the many cafés on Smithfield Square if you wish to purchase food or hot drinks.
