Dogs Trust, Saturday 13th July

Something fishy is going down at Dogs Trust. And we're not talking about the sardines they occasionally give their residents when they're on their best behaviour. We're talking about a certain mystery that needs solving. And they need you to help them solve it. So this is a recruitment message. Doggy Detectives needed; clever children what “nose” the score..!

This educational event is held in the re-homing centre in Finglas, and is a fun filled afternoon of Responsible Dog Ownership activities, with a unique detective twist. The activities include a behind-the-scenes tour/scavenger hunt, where recruits will see all the action and learn how Dogs Trust runs, while also collecting clues to discover everything that a dog needs to be happy and healthy. Then it's back to the forensics lab, where the team of Sherlock Bones will undertake experiments to determine how powerful a dog's senses are (Hint: a lot better than ours).

After all that detecting, recruits will no doubt be tired but fear not – there's a short film to watch, during which popcorn will be provided, and if that wasn't enough, you'll then get to hone all the knowledge and skills you learnt throughout the day, to design an innovative dog toy. Phew. That's one packed afternoon. So, if you think you're the next ‘Jessica Fetcher', then make sure to grab a ticket!

Smell ya later.

The event is pitched for children aged 7-13 and their families, but unfortunately, it is a human only event. The premises are full of dogs already and there's just no room for any more..!
