The Collins/Griffith Commemoration Society invites the public to attend the annual national commemoration honouring General Michael Collins and President Arthur Griffith at Glasnevin Cemetery on Sunday, 16 August 2026.
The ceremony begins at 1.00 p.m. and attendees are asked to be in place by 12.45 p.m.
The keynote oration will be delivered by Senator Michael McDowell, with an address by historian Professor Michael Laffan. The Defence Forces will be represented by Brigadier General Mark Staunton, who will lay a wreath on their behalf.
The ceremony will include a procession, wreath-laying, the Last Post and Reveille, and the National Anthem.
There is no charge to attend and no ticket is required. This Eventbrite listing is being used to help promote the commemoration and provide event information only.
This is a non-political event, open to all. Everyone is very welcome.
