Capriccio Vocal Ensemble

Christ Church Cathedral, Saturday 13th July 2019

Capriccio Vocal Ensemble: Lunchtime Recital – a celebration of music.

Beginning with its debut concert in January 2007, Capriccio has featured the talents of outstanding vocal musicians, a good number of whom are degreed music educators and lead choirs themselves. They are united by a commitment to bring sophisticated and entertaining choral music to Columbus audiences.

Under founding Artistic Director Larry Griffin and Associate Director Karrie Horton, Capriccio has an expansive repertoire, ranging from sacred and classical masterpieces to fresh takes on great standards. The singers are frequently accompanied by professional instrumentalists, ranging from orchestral strings to jazz combos. In addition to its own full seasons, Capriccio has performed in collaboration with regional symphony orchestras and national tours of Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, Rocktopia, and Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Concert Tour.

Concert is free but normal Cathedral admission applies.

Waiting For Godot

Smock Alley Theatre

A country road. A tree. Evening. Vladimir and Estragon wait endlessly for the arrival of Godot, discussing religion, contemplating suicide and crotch rot in a comical wordplay of poetry, dreamscapes and nonsense. A tragicomedy in Two Acts – Beckett's play pioneered an expressionistic minimalism that captured the existential post World War II Europe and man's inexhaustible search for meaning. This play remains one of the most beautiful and allegorical of our time. Written by: Samuel Beckett. Directed by: Patrick Sutton. Cast: Charlie Hughes, Dónal Courtney, Gerard Byrne, Rex Ryan.

Two Pints

Abbey Theatre

After two sold-out tours of pubs across Ireland and the UK, Roddy Doyle’s ‘achingly, breathtakingly funny’ Two Pints is on a US Tour before taking to the stage this summer. The hilarious and provocative Two Pints started as a conversation on Facebook. Now it’s a play. Two men meet for a pint. They talk about their Da’s, death, Nigella, North Korea, the afterlife… Settle down and listen in as they chew the fat and set the world to rights. #TwoPints
