Bloomsday Film Festival

On the 20th December 1909, James Joyce set up Ireland's first Cinema – the ‘Volta Electric Theatre', on Mary Street. Over one hundred years later, though the Volta has long since closed its doors, James Joyce's stylistic and highly visual writing is still influencing Irish and World Cinema. Join us this Bloomsday for a screening of diverse short films inspired by all things Joycean, available online for the 24 hours of Bloom's adventure. Curated by award-winning filmmaker Tommy Creagh.

Selection:
The Sisters (2017), USA, 18 min, Dir. Matthew Eberle.
Penelope (2019), Ireland, 30 min, Dir. Caitríona Ní Threasaigh.
