Barwick & Siegfried

dlr Mill Theatre, Tuesday 21st May 2019

Barwick & Siegfried have performed everywhere from major festivals in northern California to concert halls in Ireland and Canada. The acclaimed American acoustic roots music duo has won over a sizeable following, one audience at a time. The duo of Kathy Barwick (guitar, vocals) and Pete Siegfried (mandolin, vocals) blends bluegrass, old-time country music and folk into an engaging Americana fusion showcasing Pete's exceptional lead vocals, Kathy's amazing guitar work, and their sterling duet harmonies. Hailed by Bluegrass Unlimited as “two like-minded lovers of song who've found musical gold in their pairing”, the duo perfectly captures the power-of-two — two musicians, two voices and two instruments — harnessed to a singular artistic vision.

The duo is touring in support of its third album, Stones and Gravel, which perfectly captures its down-home but sophisticated sound. Like its predecessors The Trestle and Long Time Gone, it is an honest, assured and eminently tuneful album that showcases the magical blend of this celebrated duo from Grass Valley, California. Bluegrass Breakdown lauds Pete's “expansive tenor voice that can tell a story, croon a love song and bring a tear to the eye, all in one song” and Kathy's ability “to make one guitar sound as strong as a band.” This will be the third appearance by Barwick & Siegfried at the dlr Mill Theatre, Dundrum.

Judah & the Lion – Pep Talks World Tour

The Workman's Club

Judah & the Lion live at The Workman's Club. For Judah & the Lion, the last two years should’ve been the best of their lives as the Nashville band toured behind a powerful single and a genre-upending album, sharing stages with heroes and playing to oceans of fans. But as everything was coming together for them, singer-guitarist Judah Akers' family was falling apart in a hail of alcoholism and affairs, death and divorce. From that tension comes Pep Talks, the trio's third LP and a hard left turn into deeply personal terrain.
