Aoife Scott is a folk singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene and has long enjoyed success as an established artist in her own right. Fragile and ethereal one minute and strong and vibrant the next, her dynamic and profound vocals explore the emotional depths of her lyrics, leaving the audience entranced.

With a deep passion for storytelling, Aoife has continued to establish herself as a prominent figure in the Irish music scene. She has released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Carry the Day” and “Homebird,” which have showcased her ability to fuse traditional and contemporary styles and earned her a loyal following both in Ireland and internationally.

In addition to her music career, Aoife is also an accomplished radio broadcaster. She has hosted the popular folk music program “Folk on One” on RTÉ Radio 1, and also appears regularly on “Late Date” where she shares her extensive knowledge and passion for all kinds of music genres with listeners around the world.

In 2024, alongside her touring partner Andy Meaney, she toured and performed an impressive 100 concerts across eight different countries, showcasing her versatility and captivating audiences with her soulful performances.

Her music has been praised for its authenticity, emotional depth, and ability to connect with audiences on a deeply personal level. With her soulful voice, captivating lyrics, and unwavering commitment to her craft, Aoife Scott continues to inspire and delight audiences around the world. One Dublin One Book

Dublin

Christine Falls by John Banville is the One Dublin One Book choice for 2026, following on from Dublin Written in Our Hearts, an anthology, chosen for 2025. One Dublin One Book aims to encourage everyone in Dublin to read a designated book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year. This annual project is a Dublin City Council initiative, led by Dublin City Libraries and Dublin UNESCO City of Literature, which encourages reading for pleasure. The author introduces us to the maverick pathologist Quirke whose only passion is finding truth in science. While readers
