Alliance Française Dublin, Wednesday 20th May - Saturday 23rd May

Alliance Française Dublin and Illustrators Ireland have joined forces to present the 11th edition of the Comic Book Festival Dublin, celebrating the vibrant worlds of comics and illustration. This year’s programme features a series of creative events designed to inspire, entertain, and amaze.

Building on the success of last year’s festival, this edition expands in scope and introduces some exciting new elements.

The opening evening will feature acclaimed French comic creators Fabien Tillon and Gaël Remise, alongside outstanding Irish artists Sarah Bowie and Sheena Dempsey.

In addition to a spectacular evening of Live Readings, the festival will offer a full day of workshops led by industry specialists, including an all-day masterclass by legendary Irish artist Eoin Coveney.

A highlight of this year’s programme is a unique partnership with the Irish National Opera, exploring the surprising yet fascinating connections between the classic French comic Astérix and Bellini’s opera Norma.

This year also sees the festival organisers present, for the very first time, a professionally focused panel aimed at both emerging and established creators and artists.

Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a curated selection of works at The French Library, an exhibition showcasing selected works by our guest artists, book sales and signings, and a special convention organised in partnership with Little Deer Bookshop and Dublin Comic Arts on Saturday 23rd.

Featuring talks, reading, creative workshops, performances, book sales, signings, a terrific exhibition and lots of great networking opportunities, all events are presented in a mix of French and English, with a touch of Irish, and free of charge (except Masterclass and Creative workshops).
