Friends in Berlin is based on the extraordinary true story of William Patrick Hitler, the son of Hitler’s half-brother, Alois, and his Irish wife, Bridget Dowling. Raised in Liverpool and abandoned by his father at a young age, William later discovers that Alois, assumed to have died in the First World War, is in fact thriving with a new wife and family, while his famous uncle is beginning his rise to power.
