Meeting Point: Main entry to The Formal Gardens, IMMA
___
Who are the hosts of the Formal Gardens at IMMA? Why are there only statues of women?
Join visual artist Rachel Fallon for a speculative walk through some garden politics. Hear how colonial, gender and class histories collide to inform her political, textile and sculptural works and what happened to Hercules and his lovely legs.
This walk in honour of St. Brigid’s Day will take place on Saturday 3rd February commencing at 2:00 PM at the main entry to The Formal Gardens (top of the steps) at IMMA, Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
Rachel Fallon is a Dublin based visual artist who deals with themes of protection and defence in domestic realms and addresses the topic of motherhood and womens' relationships to society
Presented to you by Brigit 2024: Dublin City Celebrating Women, a Dublin City Council initiative.
