Throw Down Your Cloak: A Celebration Show of Goddess Brigid & Creativity

This event has ended

Fumbally Cafe, Thursday 1st February

Throw down your cloak and claim The Liberties as Brigid’s land on February 1st! Fresh from their success as collaborators and inspirations behind the groundbreaking book Focail na mBan, these pioneering artists turn their gaze towards Bridget. The Wild Geeze fly separately as comedian Breda Larkin brings her coming of age play The Word of Breda to the stage, while the mistress of ceremonies Miss Lavelle gives us Brigid inspired burlesque & guides the evening into the usual hilarity. The Liberties own 82 year old Shamanic Gee Bag Growler will channel Brigid in her beautiful and gut punching spoken word pieces and finally The Wild Geeze will tie up this magical evening in a big Bridie Brillín bow. A night to celebrate women in the arts, to reflect on Ireland’s misogynist past and the beauty that lies in this land while celebrating Brigid’s legacy.
