NCH CLASSICAL LIVESTREAM: Irish National Opera Mozart The Abduction from the Seraglio Die Entführung aus dem Serail

NCH and Ireland’s leading classical ensembles come together to create a new livestream series bringing audiences the best in classical music.

Concert performance in association with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

The Abduction from the Seraglio was one of Mozart’s most successful operas during the composer’s lifetime. The work explores conflicts between nationalities and cultures with the lightest and most sophisticated of touches. The exotically colourful score includes some of Mozart’s most brilliant, extreme and virtuosic arias.

Soprano Claudia Boyle, who has been praised for her “stupendous coloratura sophistication and radiance” (Neue Musikzeitung), will sing Konstanze. The “stylish” (The Irish Times) tenor Dean Power sings Belmonte, with soprano Sarah Power as Blonde, tenor Andrew Gavin as Pedrillo and Jonathan Lemalu bass as Osmin.

INO Artistic Partner Peter Whelan conducts the Irish National Opera Chorus and the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

Sung in German with English surtitles. The concert will be available to tickets holders for 48 hours following the performance.

Presented by National Concert Hall.
