The Ark: Whiny Orangutan and the Brilliant Banana – Online Early Years Drama Workshops for children aged 2-4 and their grown-ups.

Using a fun reimagined version of Aesop's Fable of The Dog and the Bone, little ones and their grown-ups will explore the idea of being content in this interactive early years drama workshop with Joanna Parkes.

There was once an orangutan who was never happy with what he had. He was always looking for something better. His friends were fed up with him always comparing and complaining. They just wanted him be happy, so they invited him to a picnic. While he was there, he spotted the best banana ever! Do you think the orangutan was happy with the brilliant banana or did he try to get something even better to eat? Join us on our imaginary picnic together at home and find out! Using our imaginations, let's see if we can come up with ways to help the orangutan be happy with what he has. For our indoor picnic, all you need to bring with you is:

  1. A blanket, rug or picnic blanket.
  2. A couple of soft toys to come on the picnic with you (any favourite cuddly animal will do).
  3. A cushion to sit on.
  4. Plastic or paper plates and cups if you have them.

If you don't have any of these things, don't worry – we can simply use our imaginations instead. Combining drama, story and play, this interactive online drama workshop with Joanna Parkes invites little ones and their grown-ups to enjoy imagining together. So if you're a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunty, godparent or carer, join in with a 2-4 year old to discover, explore and create together in this delightful workshop adventure.
