Over 10 days in May, from 17 – 26 of May International Literature Festival Dublin brings the best and brightest writers, performers, artists, and thinkers to Merrion Square Park in the heart of Dublin city, transforming the park into a literary village abuzz with conversation and ideas.

Through live readings, discussions, screenings, guided walks, immersive activities and more, we celebrate the story and its many forms. Featuring the very best from Ireland and abroad, there's something for readers of all ages and interests – from fiction to non-fiction and everything in between.

Even the most casual reader will find ways to enjoy a good story with a Fringe programme that steps away from the traditional book discussion format and into new territories through musical and spoken word performances, comedy, arts & crafts and more. And for aspiring writers and creators, our Skills programme offers a chance to hone your craft with guidance directly from the experts.

On an island of storytellers in a city where books are treasured, International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFD) is Ireland’s leading literary event. Since 1998, we have brought the world’s finest writers together to enthral, engage and excite audiences. ILFD is a Dublin City Council initiative, kindly funded by The Arts Council.
