WeAddHeart Dublin Lucan – A meetup group for people who feel the pull to connect with their own heart and the hearts of others.

What is WeAddHeart? It's a meetup group for people who feel the pull to connect with their own heart and the hearts of others, to live life more fully from the heart and to create a more heart-based world. By coming together their intention is to practise simple heart-focused techniques which will improve your personal health and happiness, helping to connect with the hearts of others and to play a part in raising social and global consciousness with the aim of creating greater fairness, understanding and peace between peoples and nations.

What will happen during the WeAddHeart group? During your time together you will be practising simple heart-focused techniques, similar to meditations. Specifically, attention is placed on hearts, breath and on creating and sustaining positive and elevated heart-based feelings like care, appreciation, gratitude, and compassion. Then time is spent directing these feelings to ourselves, towards fellow group members, towards a particular individual, group or situation and then out into the world.

The techniques practised create individual and group “coherence”. Coherence is a real, measurable state characterised by increased order and harmony in our physiological (bodily) and psychological (mental) processes. It is an optimal state for individual health and for building deeper connections with others. The technique practice lasts around 35 minutes and is conducted using Zoom – Zoom is an online service for video calls and webinars. Please download the free software and set up an account in advance before the session. Then at the time of the online meetup session you just need to click on the Zoom link which is sent to you in the registration confirmation email. Zoom enables everyone to see each other, but if you wish you can turn off your video. During the meditations your microphone will be muted by the group facilitator.

Who created WeAddHeart? WeAddHeart is an expanding collaboration between organisations involved in heart-based living, personal development and raising consciousness. HeartMath® UK+IRL facilitates the running, administration and expansion of the community of groups. Group facilitators are people who share the vision of a more peaceful, fairer and happier world. They come from all walks of life and anyone can become a facilitator.

Queer Georgians: A Hidden History of Lovers, Lawbreakers and Homemakers

Wood Quay Venue

This lecture uncovers the queer lives hidden (and not so hidden) across Georgian Britain and Ireland, from devoted lovers and unconventional households to figures who quietly defied the rules of their age. Central to the story are the Ladies of Llangollen (or the Ladies from Kilkenny), whose Irish history offers a vivid way into a world of domesticity, intimacy, friendship, and chosen family. Moving beyond scandal and secrecy, the talk reveals a Georgian past that was far more diverse, daring, and emotionally rich than we are often led to believe. ISL interpretation will be provided.
