The Catalpalyst is a theatrical quest that poses urgent questions for the 150th anniversary of the Catalpa humanitarian rescue of Irish prisoners from Fremantle.

Donal O’Kelly’s new theatrical presentation, The Catalpalyst, is his creative re-exploration for the 150th anniversary of the 1876 Catalpa whaleship rescue of six Irish prisoners from Fremantle, 30 years after his much-travelled show Catalpa won a Fringe First award in Edinburgh.
