The SIGNAL series returns with a live interactive demonstration with researcher and musician Martin Clancy in conversation with music producer Vasileios Gourgourinis and Simon Hayes, the designer behind Ableton 11.

Martin Clancy is a Certified Ableton Live Trainer who was awarded with a PhD on Ethics and AI in music in Trinity College Dublin in 2021. He is the founding chair of the IEEE EAD for the Art Committee and is currently completing a new book on AI in music. Martin’s spoken word Jazztronik duo Embassy Gutters feature at the Jazzahead Convention in Germany in this spring and his group Valleraphon’s new EP Pathos 11 will be released on Krafted UK in May.

Simon Hayes is the product manager for Ableton Live. A Trinity graduate, Simon has been living in Berlin and working for Ableton for the past several years. He oversaw the evolution of Ableton Push 2 and after the release of Live 10, moved on to take charge of the software team responsible for Ableton Live. Simon is an established DJ and producer who performs under the moniker ‘Swarm Intelligence.’

Vasileios Gourgourinis is a full-time lecturer at the Sound Training College, IADT. As a Dublin based music producer, he is also a member of the melodic techno group Valleraphon – alongside Martin Clancy and DJ Giuliano A.L. Valleraphon have released multiple EPs under labels such as Bonzai Progressive and Krafted Underground. Vasileios has produced and engineered albums by Jack Lukeman (27 Club, Great Wall of China & Magic Days) and collaborates with artists such as, Dashoda, Galia Arad and Gold Blooded Woman.
