Join us on January 6th at Whelan’s to celebrate Nollaig na mBan, or Women’s Christmas, with a special evening of music and poetry featuring two of Ireland’s most iconic artists—Mary Coughlan and Paula Meehan. In the spirit of this cherished tradition, the event honors the creativity, strength, and voices of Irish women.

Mary Coughlan, Ireland’s finest jazz and blues singer, and acclaimed poet Paula Meehan will perform on the night, bringing their artistry to life in the intimate surrounds of Whelans.

The Guinness Choir is thrilled to announce our upcoming 75th Anniversary Concert, “The City of Our Dreaming'. Wanting to celebrate this great city, our Liberties’ origins, and our musical tradition, we commissioned a contemporary choral cantata. The text for 'The City of Our Dreaming' is an original poem by Paula Meehan, commissioned by the choir and composed for choir by Seán Doherty: a remarkable poem distilled into a warm, sensitive, and exciting choral experience. The concert, on Thursday, 7th May, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, will be the world premiere of this unique composition
