Lady Cove Choir, one of Canada's leading women's choirs, will perform a special concert at the historic St. John's Lane Church in Dublin. While in Europe to compete at the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, Lady Cove is delighted to share the music and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador with Irish audiences.
Often described as Ireland's closest cultural cousin across the Atlantic, Newfoundland and Labrador. shares centuries of musical, linguistic, and family connections with Ireland. This special performance celebrates those enduring ties through an evening of music, storytelling, and cultural exchange.
Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Kellie Walsh, Lady Cove has earned a national and international reputation for artistic excellence, innovative programming, and community engagement. The choir has represented Canada on stages around the world and is a two-time winner of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's National Choral Competition.
The July 15 concert will feature classical and sacred repertoire, Newfoundland and Labrador folk music, and works by Canadian composers. Through music, Lady Cove and special guests, pianist James Hurley (piano) and tenor Dean xxx (Ireland), will share the stories, traditions, and spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador while celebrating the cultural connections that continue to unite communities on both sides of the Atlantic.
Choirs, singers, music students, and lovers of choral music are warmly invited to attend this special evening of music and cultural exchange.
