Charlemont Square , Thursday 14th November
Come join us at Charlemont Square, as Dublin City Council unveils Ireland's largest Augmented Reality (AR) art installation ‘Hexahedron', in Charlemont Square, Dublin. Created by internationally renowned artist Maser and in collaboration with Imvizar, this ground-breaking initiative is part of the European Capital of Smart Tourism programme.
‘Hexahedron' transforms Dublin’s landscape through art, aiming to infuse daily life with positivity and connection – something Maser has done throughout his practice.
This augmented reality project reshapes how we experience art, using digital technology to push the boundaries of public art. By enabling viewers to engage with the piece through their mobile devices, Maser creates a unique experience for each person, inviting questions about ownership of space and art.
Visitors will be transported into a vibrant digital art canvas as they walk through Charlemont Square's historic archway. The natural enclosure of the square acts as a cube-like structure with Maser’s artwork filling its 360° bounds. Visitors will experience the digital artwork coming alive through their mobile devices – with flowing colours, overlays and gestural animations, signature to Maser’s arts practice.
