Havana Roots

This event has ended

The Sound House, Friday 4th August

Havana Roots blends traditional Son Cubano with the irresistible rhythms of Jamaican roots music. The sound of the Trés Cubano, piano and bongos, typical of Cuban orchestras, is combined with the reggae sound of electric guitar, bass and drums. A brass section then glues it all together.

Composed of nine talented musicians, this orchestra is known for taking classic Cuban tunes – think Buena Vista Social Club – and giving them a fresh, new twist using reggae grooves and the upbeat energy of ska, that will have you dancing all night long.

Opening act: Calambre (Dublin selector – Tropical Bass, Cumba, Kuduro, Afrobeat).
