Georgian Dublin Walking Tour

14 Henrietta Street, Saturday 5th February - Wednesday 30th March

Take a journey through Georgian Dublin, with guided walking tours from award-winning museum 14 Henrietta Street.

Our tour begins on Henrietta Street, the first Georgian street in Dublin and the template from which all other Georgian Dublin streets followed. Charting the fortunes of the illustrious Gardiner Estate on Dublin's Northside, from the best address in town to its decline to tenement housing, its story mirrors the fortunes of Dublin and its residents.

Learn about the man who built Henrietta Street, the ‘Jewel in the Georgian Crown', the lavish lifestyles and social lives of families who lived there, including number 14’s first residents the Molesworths, and how one man's vision and ingenuity created the world's first maternity hospital. Taking visitors to some of Dublin’s most elite addresses and grand Georgian squares, the tour will explore the architectural and social history of the city and its residents, and reveal the details of the lives lived behind the elegant red brick facades.

This tour is 1 hour 30 minutes in duration. This tour does not include a visit to the House.

The meeting point for this tour is outside 14 Henrietta Street. The tour finishes on Upper O'Connell Street.

This walking tour is an outdoor experience so please dress for all weathers and wear comfortable shoes. To ensure social distancing, each tour group size is limited to 9 persons max including the tour guide. Please maintain strict social distancing from other attendees, the guide and members of the public whilst on the tour and maintain good hand hygiene and coughing/sneezing etiquette.
