Embroidery Workshop: Make an Irish Celtic Knot

This event has ended

National Museum of Ireland, Archaeology, Wednesday 11th March

Join us for a hands-on embroidery class where you’ll learn how to stitch an Irish Celtic Knot with BeAlice on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6PM – 8PM at National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street.

You’ll learn traditional and modern techniques of embroidery while creating the Celtic Knot design famously found in the Book of Kells. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop in our museum gift store afterhours and enjoy 20% off on our Irish designers in store.

This embroidery class is suitable for complete beginners. Embroidery is a slow process, so the piece will not be completed within the class. But we will make sure that you are confident enough in everything you've learned, to finish the work at home.

All the materials and equipment you need will be provided on the day. Your kit will include fabric, threads, needles, and instructions. Your materials are included in the price of the class.

Workshop Host: Alice of BeAlice is a passionate embroiderer, inspired by Ireland – it's history, it's culture, it's landscape. She uses her extensive knowledge of embroidery and textile techniques to create contemporary wall art. Her attention to pattern, colour, and texture allows customers to take a small piece of Ireland into their homes.
