Taking over Meeting House Square for a third year, the Imbolc Fair returns to welcome Spring and celebrate the spirit of the Celtic goddess Brigit! Drop down from 12:00 – 16:30 and enjoy music from DJ Louise Bruton, grab a coffee and a tasty treat from Bahay & more, make a festive flower crown with Flowerpop, learn about the art of blacksmithing with 9 Irons Forge, and so much more.     • Live DJ Set with Louise Bruton @itsloubru  spinning vibrant tunes in honour of the Celtic Goddess Brigit, from 12:00 – 16:30 
    • Brigit’s Glow: Nail Art with Painted Pretty: Painted_prettyx will provide custom nail sets inspired by the Celtic Goddess Brigit. Get your nails done with a unique, hand-picked design. You can browse the available sets, choose your favourite, and book a time slot via @painted_prettyx between 12:00 – 16:30. (the duration of each slot is circa 40mins, and will run 12:00, 12:45, 13:30, 14:15, 15:00, 15:45). Session per person is €25. Bookable via @Painted_prettyx on instagram
      Painted_prettyx will also have their bespoke and glam press on nails available for sale in different sizes. Pick your own Brigit design/nails and make your own press on the nail set. €50 per nail set.

    • Brigit’s Table: Explore Brigit’s food and drink connections through tales and tasting. Join food writers and creatives Ali Dunworth and Satina Kennedy for a very special food and drink pop-up celebration of Imbolc and Brigit’s many food and drink connections. From sacred cows and spring lambs to nettles and craft beers, Brigit has many food and drink stories and Ali and Santina will explore these along with tasters from some of Ireland’s finest artisan food and drink producers.  Brigit’s Table will run from 12 – 4.30pm with bookable spaces for the tasting talks happening on the hour.  Tickets €5.     • Festive Flower Crowns with Flowerpop: Select your stems and let the experts at Flowerpop show you how to create a flower crown befitting the Celtic goddess Brigit herself!     • Brigit-Inspired Tufting Taster Workshop
      Join us at the Imbolc Fair for a hands-on creative experience with Dublin Tufting! Celebrate the spirit of the Celtic Goddess Brigit by crafting your very own tufted motifs inspired by her symbols of fire, fertility, and creativity. This drop-in workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the art of tufting in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
      Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, our expert instructors will guide you through the process, helping you create a beautiful piece inspired by Brigit's symbols. From spirals to flames and intricate patterns, you'll discover how to bring these ancient motifs to life using modern tufting techniques.

    • Tarot Reading with the Wicklow Witch: Tap into the magic and mysticism of Brigit and visit the Wicklow Witch for a Tarot reading! Our Tarot expert Emer will guide you to the answers you seek through the ancient art of Tarot reading. Sessions take place throughout the day. Capacity is limited so advance booking is advised.     • Butter Making with Helen Finnegan: Learn how to make your own delicious butter at home with expert Helen Finnegan! With a background in artisan cheese making, Helen now works teaching people how to make cheese and butter at home as well as working as an advisor to other artisan food producers.  This workshop will take you through the steps of making your own butter while exploring some of its fascinating history in Irish Food Culture.     • Brigit's Shadow: A Puppetry Workshop & Show
      Get ready to explore the enchanting world of shadow puppetry with Flight of Fancy, Dublin’s talented puppetry troupe. Inspired by the ancient Celtic goddess Brigit, this fun and interactive workshop will bring light, shadow, and creativity to life.
      Flight of Fancy will guide children and adults of all ages through the art of shadow puppetry, using light, colour, and movement to tell stories in exciting new ways. You’ll get the chance to make your own shadow puppets and experiment with them in the workshop, the workshop will conclude with a live shadow puppet show at the end of each session.
      It’s a wonderful opportunity to unleash your imagination, create your own shadow tales, and experience the magic of puppetry with your family.

    • Brigit: Boundless & Radical: Live Screenprinting with Damn Fine Print. Roll up your sleeves and try your hand at screenprinting! Choose from two design by Jill & Gill specially commissioned for Brigit 2024 & 2025 entitled Brigit : Boundless Radical I & II –  and let the experts from Damn Fine Print studio show you how to create your very own vibrant piece of art you can take home and proudly display on your wall. Free, first come, first served.
    • Blacksmithing Demos with 9 Irons: Stop by the 9 Irons mobile forge for a demonstration in blacksmithing, one of the traditional crafts associated with the goddess Brigit. Learn about the tradition of the 9 irons and meet Ireland's first female graduate in blacksmithing, Mary Hallinan. 
    • Children's Books Ireland Book Doctor: Are you a young reader? Looking for a new series to delve into? Feeling uninspired by your bookshelves at home? Then pop along to see the Book Doctors from Children's Books Ireland! These book experts will get you fixed up with a prescription for your next favourite read. Free, drop in.
    • Straw & Rushes in Irish Folk & Country Life with Steffi Otto: JJoin qualified ecologist, environmental scientist, and accomplished craft worker Steffi Otto for a series of special drop-in workshops celebrating Brigit and the arrival of Spring. In this hands-on session, Steffi will guide you through the traditional techniques of crafting using rushes and straw, materials deeply connected to both the land and ancient Celtic rituals. Learn how to create iconic symbols such as Brigit’s crosses, which have long been used to celebrate St. Brigid’s Day and the pagan festival of Imbolc. You’ll also have the opportunity to make Biddy dolls, used in folk traditions to bring blessings of fertility and protection, as well as other creative items like wands and butterfly cages that invoke the spirit of renewal and nature’s cycles.     • Brigit Facepainting with Magic Wand Face Paint Transform into the Celtic Goddess Brigit with stunning face art by Magic Face Wand. Let your inner goddess shine as you get beautifully painted in honor of Brigit’s spirit. A magical way to celebrate the day! Free, first come, first served.
    • St. Brigid’s Magical Cloak Collage Workshop with Úna Woods. Join author/illustrator Úna Woods to explore the legend of St. Brigid’s enchanted cloak. Get creative as you design your own vibrant cloak collage using a variety of patterned, colourful papers. Let your imagination soar and craft a magical cloak full of colour and charm!. Suitable for ages 5+. Free, drop in.

Bloomsday celebrates Thursday 16 June 1904, the day depicted in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Ulysses. The novel follows the life and thoughts of Leopold Bloom and a host of other characters – real and fictional – from 8am on 16 June 1904 through to the early hours of the following morning. Celebrations often include dressing up like characters from the book and in clothes that would have been the style of the era.
