Online, Monday 10th August

Abbey Theatre: Dear Ireland Continues – A virtual ‘open house' performance of letters, poems, and songs that express the many different hopes, experiences, and challenges facing Ireland at this moment.

Abbey Theatre asked their audience to write a letter. To start it, ‘Dear Ireland', and talk to the nation about what it should be discussing. They received letters from all corners of the country and overseas, letters in Irish, English, and Irish Sign Language. Now 20 of these letters will be read from the Abbey stage by some of Ireland's leading actors. These readings will be interspersed with epic music performances by Damien Dempsey and spoken word performances from Lord Mayor Hazel Chu, Mrs. Sabina Higgins, Minister Catherine Martin TD, and Fintan O'Toole.

In these profoundly unsettling times for Irish society and the entire world, Dear Ireland Continues to give a voice to the nation. Join the Abbey for an evening of thought and song that tries to make sense of the world right now.

Smock Alley Theatre

Critically-acclaimed VOLTA THEATRE COMPANY returns to Smock Alley with a new production of Shakespeare’s gripping tale of murder, totalitarianism and how a person loses their soul. In a politically unstable world, where witchcraft and satanic cults chip away at the status quo, a man temperamentally unsuited to kingship seizes the crown by violent means. Corrupted by absolute power, he becomes vengeful, paranoid and completely unhinged in his bid to establish a dynasty bloodline. Shakespeare’s timeless story about the horrors that lie in wait beyond societal breakdown has non-stop act

That’s Soo Povo

Axis Ballymun

When Chantelle and Craoí, two working class Dublin drama students, lock horns over The Plough and the Stars, their combined rage brings forth Queen Povo, a drag-drenched larger-than-life entity who forces the girlos and the audience to examine what they’re thinking about when they think of class. From D'Girlos Theatre, this riotous, razor-sharp debut crashes through class, art, and authenticity with wit, grit, and glitter. A juicy-tracksuit clad call to arms for anyone who’s ever felt too loud, too real, or just too povo.
