Culture Night Dublin 2023 – One Night For All | Oíche Dár Saol

The eighteenth edition of Culture Night Dublin will take place on Friday, 22 September 2023. The programme of events features an exciting programme of cultural discovery across Dublin, with the usual myriad of fantastic events and activities.

On Culture Night, Dublin’s many cultural venues open their doors late into the evening, with unique events specifically programmed in open spaces throughout the city. All events are free to attend and the full programme is available here.

Visit MoLI!

This Culture Night, explore the exhibitions, café and gardens of MoLI, the Museum of Literature Ireland! Step behind the curtain and into the restless, illusory world of Claire-Louise Bennett’s Nightflowers, or witness The Holy Hour: A Requiem for Brendan Behan, created by writer Patrick McCabe.


Meeting House Square: Strawberries

Queer party Strawberries invites audiences to come and get immersed in an electronic music event that will illuminate Meeting House Square for Culture Night Dublin 2023. Let the enchanting beats and melodies honour diversity and unity, while the music guides you in a safe and open setting.


GPO Museum – Museum Visit and Mini Talks

Members of the public are welcome at a special late night opening of the GPO Museum to celebrate Culture Night. Go on a self-guided visit to the museum that brings you on a journey through the 1916 Rising, the War of Independence & the Irish Civil War.

The Race – Stream Online

Bring the wonderful stories of Aesop’s Fables into your home or classroom this Culture Night by streaming this exciting new dance show suitable for children aged 4+. The Race entwines three of Aesop’s Fables to create a fun, interactive and colourful world of animals, puppets, theatre and movement.


Inner City Celebration at Spencer Dock

Head down to Spencer Dock, nestled between the calming waters of the canal and the buzz of the inner city is a green space being transformed for one night only. An intergenerational hang out space is being hosted and created by the young people in Swan Youth Services, with support from tech firm Hubspot



‘Pucara Bull, Ambassador of the Peruvian Andes’ Exhibition

The Pucará Bull is a cultural and ancestral expression of the Puno region, as well as one of the most popular art pieces in Peruvian craftwork, and the product of our diverse culture. According to the Andean worldview, the Pucará bull figure is seen as a symbol of strength, peace, abundance, and prosperity, as well as a symbol of the identity of southern Peru.


Screening: ‘Variations’

The Embassy of Portugal invites you to participate in a celebration of Portuguese culture through the screening of the film ‘Variations’, followed by an informal social gathering. ‘Variations’ depicts the life of famous Portuguese pop and folk singer, António Variações, his artistic journey throughout the 1980s and the battle against prejudice that he faced.


Romanian Culture Night in Dublin

The Embassy of Romania presents to the public an exciting opportunity to sample Romanian culture. The event will include famous Romanian artists who have settled in Ireland, but also famous photographers from Romania. The guests will have the delight of tasting samples of Romanian cuisine, especially traditional Romanian sweets.


Dry Stone Walling Heritage and Dancing

Come and admire a custom made dry stone wall in recognition of the shared but varied practices of Dry Stone Walling across the European continent while enjoying Luxembourg delicacies and refreshments.


Lithuanian Traditional Cuisine and Cooking Presentation

The Embassy of Lithuania is excited to present an evening of traditional cuisine, music and national costumes for Culture Night in Dublin this year. Lithuanian cuisine has a variety of interesting dishes. There are five regions in Lithuania, within which the people cook traditional dishes that differ in character and content.


Exhibition: The Slovenian Constitution in a Comic Strip

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia is delighted to present this exhibition of a selection of articles from the comic strip presenting the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. The illustrator Zoran Smiljanić brought the content of the Constitution closer to different readers with comic book language and designed it in an interesting, educational, and entertaining way, in which the main characters, Maja and Miha, walk among the most important articles of the Constitution and thus learn about democracy and active citizenship.
