The New Year Festival Dublin Music Trail was a FREE event that took place over two days on 30 December 2024 and 1 January 2025 in some of Dublin’s best live music venues. This vibrant Music Trail helped to showcase an eclectic mix of live performances from Ireland’s up and coming musicians and DJs that brought the city to life in a unique way. Welfare Area Pilot in Dublin City-Centre
A pilot Welfare Area at Foster Place, College Green, was launched to provide support for festive revellers and night-time economy users. Open from 11pm to 4pm on the weekend of December 20th, 21st, and 22nd 2024, the Welfare Area offered immediate assistance for first aid or anyone needing help after a night out. Staffed by trained medics and security, this initiative was part of Dublin’s commitment to a safer, more enjoyable night-time experience. Dublin City Council’s Night-Time Economy Advisor supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, highlighted that this pilot was a step towards a permanent Welfare Area in the city centre.

Nocturnal Beats
Nocturnal Beats is an exciting late-night venue trail that extends the vibrant spirit of Culture Night into the early hours. By partnering with late-night venues, we’ve created a unique experience showcasing the best of Dublin’s nightlife. This event not only packed the venues but also received rave reviews from residents and media alike, proving that Dublin really does come alive after dark.
Culture Night Late Welfare Area
During Culture Night, we piloted a late-night welfare area equipped with medical support and welfare officers to ensure the safety and well-being of attendees. This initiative was well-received, providing a much-needed resource for those enjoying the festivities. We’re now working to establish this welfare area as a permanent feature in Dublin’s night-time landscape.

There’s plenty happening behind the scenes! We’re collaborating with various venues and promoters, as well as engaging with Dublin’s top cultural institutions. We’re also in discussions with the NTA, Irish Rail, and other transport agencies to develop late-night transport solutions. Working closely with the DCC City Coordination Team, we’re developing safe spaces and initiatives, with even more projects in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
