The Guinness Choir – The City Of Our Dreaming Concert

The Guinness Choir is thrilled to announce our upcoming 75th Anniversary Concert, “The City of Our Dreaming'. Wanting to celebrate this great city, our Liberties’ origins, and our musical tradition, we commissioned a contemporary choral cantata. The text for ‘The City of Our Dreaming' is an original poem by Paula Meehan, commissioned by the choir and composed for choir by Seán Doherty: a remarkable poem distilled into a warm, sensitive, and exciting choral experience.

The concert, on Thursday, 7th May, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, will be the world premiere of this unique composition and a highlight of the Culture Date with Dublin 8 Festival. It will also feature other pieces from our repertoire, including Bach, Fauré, Stanford, and Verdi, directed by Ciaran Kelly and featuring Leanne Fitzgerald, David Leigh, and Bren Berry.
