Vicar Street, Wednesday 26th November
Bob Vylan are an incendiary punk-rap duo from Ipswich and based in London, formed in 2017 by Bobby Vylan (vocals and guitar) and Bobbie Vylan on drums. Under their own label, Ghost Theatre, they released four albums—Dread (2019), We Live Here (2021), Bob Vylan Presents The Price of Life (2022), and Humble as the Sun (2024)—each a fierce hybrid of grime, punk, rap and reggae, laced with spoken-word poetry and searing commentary on racism, inequality and the UK establishment. Their second album debuted at number 18 on the UK Albums Chart and went on to win both the Kerrang! Award for Best Album and the inaugural MOBO Award for Best Alternative Music Act—an extraordinary feat for a band operating entirely DIY.
Live, Bob Vylan are a magnetic force—known for starting shows with communal meditation and closing with hugs, yet unleashing wild, mosh-pit fuelled energy in between. Their fierce independence, politically vocal stance and connection with audiences have earned them devoted fans across the UK and beyond. They remain a boundary-breaking act, carving out their own uncompromising path in British music.
